White Boxer Dogs Introduction

chels3
What are White Boxer Dogs ...are we truly a boxer or are we just a bad side effect of breeding?

As a white boxer I think it is only appropriate that a section of this site dedicated to white boxer dogs should have me as your host, don't you think?

White boxer dogs are special, because we are looked at in the boxer breeding world as a side effect of breeding certain types of boxers. While our white color prevents us from being a show dog, it does not prevent us from being lovable pets or a "true" boxer.

The boxer breed began by introducing the English Bulldog to the Brabanter Bullenbeisser, so the breed began with white genes from the start.

First off, there are some disadvantages to being a white pup, it is hard to hide in the dark, :) and we can get sunburned because our skin has a pink tint to it. In my case, I also would get cold easy because I did not have as much hair as the other pups did, just look at my poka dotted belly! :) Facts about white boxer dogs can be found by going here...

Most of us white boxers have a unique trait called the woo-woo. Sometimes when we bark, we kinda extend the length of a bark and it turns into a woo-woo. This is called our woo-woo song. Mom and Dad thinks it is funny and gives us additional personality.

For the most part I was healthy, the only issues I had was some skin allergies and bee sting allergies. Also I could not see as well as the other boxers. Mom and Dad cannot say for sure this is because I am white , but me being the only white boxer and none of the other pups having these problems leads them to think it is possible.

I was able to hear just fine, but some white boxers are deaf and deafness seems to be more common in white boxer dogs than in other boxers.

Here is another quick story about me before we get into white boxer dogs....

One day while I was still a baby, Mom and Dad were moving to a new house. Obie and I were riding in mom’s convertible with the top up, but the small rear window was open. I was leaning out of the window, doing the doggy thing with the ears and tongue. Even as a baby, I was like May West and a little top heavy, we went around a curve and out the window I went. Mom saw me and stopped as fast as she could. I had landed in the long, tall grass at the side of the road and was not hurt. Mom called me, but I was dazed and went the other way! I finally got it together and came running to mom, I never leaned out the window again!

Unfortunately there are people who will try and take advantage of us the white boxer, learn the boxer dog myths and don't be misled.
