The White Boxer Dog Myths
Unfortunatly there is a lot of misinformation about white boxers. In this section we are going to tell what is not true about the white boxer dog to help you better understand us. First off, we are the same as the boxers of color and should be treated with the same love and affection you would give any boxer. We are not "birth defects" nor are we rare. We are the result of breeding certain color types of boxers. As many as 25% of all boxers born are born white. Any anyone who advertises a rare white boxer is not truthful and probably just in it for the dollars with no regard for the animal. We are not albinos. Albinos completely lack any pigment. An albino will have pink eyes and no color anywhere on the body. White boxers will have color in their eyes, skin and some have color patches on their coat usually on the head. I have a brown patch around my eye, although it has turned grey as I have gotten older. To bad they don't make Grecian formula for dogs :) Another white boxer dog myth is we are sicker and more apt to have cancer, but this has never been proven. I have never had cancer and still don't to this day and I am 10. Cancer in dogs is the same as cancer in humans in that it is sometimes very difficult to say which will have cancer and which will not. White boxers also do not differ from the colored boxer in disposition. We all have certain personalities, just as humans do. We are very loving and affectionate and are protective of our family. We play and love to have a good time. You can go here to read about the dark side of being a white boxer dog....
