About us and why we built this boxer dog site.
Our about us page helps you to understand why we created this boxer dog web site. We want to share some of the valuable knowledge we have learned by living with these loving dogs for more than 2 decades. When I was a child, we had a boxer and his name was Chips. Although I was only around 5 or 6 at the time, I remember Chips above all the other dogs we ever had, including those we had as I grew older. He was interactive, protective, funny and tolerant. There was something else, but I could never quite figure out what it was. When my wife and I discussed getting our first dog together, I told her I wanted a boxer, because I had one as a kid and there was something special about them. She agreed, but we both really had no idea when we got our first boxer Tigger, that our lives would never be the same. During this time of living with boxers, I finally realized what was so special about the boxer. You do not "own" a boxer, they become part of you...who you are...and a part of your life that you cherish deeply. Your heart is touched forever by the most devoted, loving, clown of a canine. People who have owned boxers, all have the same feeling. They have been blessed to have known this wonderful loving spirit. Now over 20 years later we have said good-bye to our loving Obie. Tigger, Buffy, Obie and Chelsea have all given us so much and all lived a happy long life. The loss of each one of them was devastating. A part of your family is missing. None of our babies died alone, we were together and held each one as they passed. It may be silly to some, but we wanted them to know they were not alone and we truly believe they did know. We have learned so much from these babies, that we felt we should share this with whoever was interested. Neither one of us are "Dog Experts" from a formal education aspect, however, after 20 years, we have gained much insight to these wonderful dogs from experience. Because of the love and dedication we felt for boxer dogs, we did not put them in kennels, so we could go on vacation, we would either take them or we did not go! We sincerely hope you enjoy our families site and that, perhaps in some small way, we can make a difference in the life of at least one boxer. We are now adopting more babies as we just can't stand the quiet house. We have a new babies, Arnold and Lilly. All are from the local boxer rescues and we are pleased to give them a loving and forever home. We welcome your comments for improvements. You can contact us here. Joe and Judy PS Boxer dogs will always be a part of our lives in one way or another. This site is dedicated to them and their happiness. We will continue to work with the boxer rescues to save as many of these babies as possible.
